“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” John 10:27
Throughout the Bible We are constantly compared to sheep. One of the characteristics of a sheep that is very distinct from any other animal is that they are meek and can distinguish the voice of their shepherd. Since a sheep is not really equipped to fight and defend itself it relies on the shepherd.
God has created us to rely on Him and only Him! Although we think we can defend ourselves or be independent we simply cannot! We ultimately need the guidance of our shepherd. This is why Jesus went to the cross to protect us and save us from being led astray. As His sheep who follows, let’s fully trust in Him without doubting that He will lead us to the green fruitful pastures. You are led by the best which means you will have the best for He leads you in the right direction not letting you astray. Be confident in this, that God is with you!
~ Heavenly Father, thank You for always leading me in the right direction. I surrender my plans and fully commit my ways unto You. I’m ready to go where the sound of Your voice calls me! In Jesus’ Name Amen!
