We have what we asked for
“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:”
1 John 5:14 KJV
When Jesus went about preaching the gospel He delivered multitudes from infirmities, oppression, and poverty—people who were too far gone and too brokenhearted to believe in a miracle. A method He often used that seemed rather perplexing is that He asked them what they needed or wanted from Him. It’s baffling because this is God in human form and He knew exactly what they needed. Yet, He still asked them to tell Him what it was that they needed.
The reality is that the goodness of God exceeds our pride and our thoughts. To be healed, to be delivered, and to receive the petitions we have asked we ought to humble ourselves unto God. In this reverential trust in God we arise in who we really are in Him. The moment these people revealed what it was that they needed the Lord answered. Within seconds. He wants to show you that you can trust Him and that He will always answer, maybe not the way you were expecting but in His perfect way which will be far exceeding. More than you can ask, think, or imagine. He will never disappoint! So ask and be prepared for your blessings!
~ Father God, Your love is so thrilling! thank You for Your gift of life. I ask for your perfect will today and believe it has all been accomplished as You did it years ago on that cross. In Jesus name amen.
