I Can See
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 KJV
There are a lot of ways we judge ourselves and our circumstances based on our senses. We constantly search for affirmations through outward appearances. In this verse Samuel—a formidable prophet in the Old Testament— was judging a crucial decision regarding the future of the next king of Israel by merely trying to predict the outcome through outward appearances. Perhaps you have come across a situation where you were judged based on your appearance and then you began to judge yourself or your situation by what you can only see.
Now this has limited and weighed you down in believing it is hopeless. However, God wants you to remember today that your success and your growth in Him cannot be judged by your naked human eye. Your ability to succeed or overcome any situation in your life is not based on what you see but on what God sees. Which are the gifts and talents He has placed in you! He looks at your future not your current state. He sees beyond the current state and into the heart of every situation regardless of how hopeless and impossible it appears. He can and He will turn everything around showing you that it wasn’t as hopeless as you thought!
~ Father God, thank You for always revealing all things to me and for guiding me in every situation. Let my eyes see what you see, I declare I see success, abundance in every part of my life. I see a bright future ahead of me in You! For Your glory in Jesus name amen!
