Humility

“Pride first, then the crash, but humility is precursor to honor.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18‬:‭12‬ ‭MSG‬‬

The Hebrew translation for humility is Anavah it means to occupy your God-given space in the world. In other words to not overestimate your abilities but rely on God. Throughout the Bible Jesus constantly shows us the behavior we must conduct ourselves in to reap success. He tells us that the greatest in the kingdom is the servant.

The definition of humility is often misconstrued. Some think it means to live in a humble cottage or to not have much but truly it is a condition of the heart. Humility is a fruit of the spirit which derives from heavenly wisdom. To be aware that one does not know all things but can trust in Jesus by putting others first regardless of their position or status. We are called to be humble with the Lord our God in truth and in spirit. Part of being humble is putting our trust completely in the Lord. Don’t fret about what you cannot resolve or why you can’t accomplish a certain goal. We only fret because we think we have to solve it all on our own, and that we could do it all on our own. Instead focus on putting your best foot forward and Jesus will perform the rest this trust placed on the Lord demonstrate.

~ Father God, thank You for humbling yourself and coming to this earth to save me. Help to walk in Your gentleness and to remain humble before you as you continue to pour out more blessings and exalt me in due time. In Jesus name amen.
